Renewable Energy-Based Standard Nuclear Appoints Seth Cohen to Board of Directors

Cohen’s appointment strengthens Standard Nuclear’s legal, regulatory, and policy expertise as the company works to expand domestic nuclear fuel production.

The company’s TRISO fuel is designed for advanced reactors used in defense, industrial, and commercial applications, including microreactor projects at U.S. national laboratories.

Cohen brings strong experience in nuclear law, regulation, and federal policy. His background is especially valuable as advanced reactors and demand for reliable power continue to grow.

As Chief Counsel for Nuclear Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy, he led the department’s nuclear legal and policy work and worked with the White House, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and NASA on advanced nuclear and space power projects.

Before joining the government, Cohen worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in San Francisco, where he focused on Supreme Court and appellate cases.
