Illinois-Based Impossible Objects Raises $40M in Series B Funding

Impossible Objects, a Northbrook, IL-based manufacturing technology company providing 3D printing solutions for industrial-scale production, has raised $40 million in a Series B funding round led by Inflection Equity.

The round also saw participation from Aaron Wealth Management, OCA Ventures, Impact Capital, and Excell Partners.

The company plans to use the funding to increase production of its industrial additive manufacturing systems, expand customer deployments and strengthen its service and commercial organization.

Founded in 2011, Impossible Objects is a manufacturing technology company focused on bringing 3D printing into industrial scale production. Its Composite Based Additive Manufacturing (CBAM) technology combines additive manufacturing with advanced composite materials including carbon fiber.

The technology is designed to produce strong and lightweight parts at production volumes for applications traditionally served by CNC machining and injection molding, while reducing the need for expensive tooling.

The company's CBAM 25 system launched in early 2025 and has been deployed across aerospace, defense and advanced manufacturing.
