Chord Raises $7M in Funding for AI Commerce Platform

Apr 30, 2026 | By Startuprise io

Chord, a NYC-based provider of an AI platform empowering modern commerce operations, has raised $7 million in a funding round led by Equal Ventures, with participation from existing investor M13 and new investors Chingona Ventures and CEAS Investments.

The company plans to use the funds to speed up development of its AI agent infrastructure and expand across mid-market and enterprise retail and commerce brands with $20M–$1B in revenue.

Running a commerce business is becoming more complex, with systems spread across different tools and teams struggling to connect everything as they adopt AI. Without a unified setup, most brands can’t fully use AI to improve operations. Chord is designed to solve this by bringing data and operations together into a single platform for mid-market and enterprise teams.

Chord supports brands generating over $1 billion in combined annual revenue, including MrBeast, Ritual, Ruggable, Rodan + Fields and Blue Bottle Coffee. Replacing disconnected tools with real time, AI powered workflows helps teams make faster decisions and automate operations at scale.

Chord lets brands ask questions, get insights, and take action instantly, turning workflows that once took weeks and multiple teams into tasks that can be done in minutes.

Its platform is built around a “context graph,” which stores key data, rules, and past decisions to reflect how a business actually operates. This helps AI make smarter, real-world decisions instead of relying on static data. As a result, more teams are adopting Chord across their organizations, with usage growing as they move away from traditional analytics tools.

"Commerce teams do not need more dashboards. They need systems that actually run the business," said Bryan Mahoney, CEO of Chord. "We've rebuilt Chord so AI can operate inside a company with full context, not as an overlay, but as the engine behind decisions and execution. This funding allows us to accelerate that vision and scale the platform for the next-generation of commerce teams."

"When you're putting out products and content at our scale, speed is everything. Chord helps our team use our data to move faster," says Joshua Maynard, GM, Global eCommerce at Mr. Beast.

"Merchants today run their businesses through a disjointed stack of solutions that can make relatively simple activities extremely manual and time-consuming," said Ali Afridi, investor at Equal Ventures. "Chord enables operators to centralize and connect their systems in a single control layer, helping them scale more efficiently and infuse AI across their operations without a costly rip-and-replace of their core systems."
