Corner Health Closes Series A Financing Round Led by Oak HC/FT

Jul 14, 2026 | By Startuprise io

Corner Health, a Santa Monica, CA-based healthcare technology company empowering Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to start and scale their own local primary care practices, has raised an undisclosed amount in a Series A funding round led by Oak HC/FT.

The round also saw participation from existing investors First Round Capital and Zigg Capital. With this investment, Corner Health has raised a total of $32.5 million to date.

The company will use the funding to grow its team, enhance its technology platform, and expand into more states.

The funding comes at an important time for the healthcare industry. Even with growing investment in AI, more than 100 million Americans still do not have access to a primary care provider, while healthcare professionals face increasing burnout and shorter patient visits.

Corner Health is taking a different approach by using AI to reduce administrative work, giving providers more time to focus on caring for patients.

Corner Health's platform is powered by Cora, an AI-based system that automates many day-to-day clinic tasks, including appointment scheduling, patient communication, billing, lab orders, referrals, and insurance authorizations.

By handling these routine tasks, Cora helps 90% of Corner Health clinics operate without hiring additional staff, reducing costs and giving nurse practitioners more time to care for patients.

"The dominant use of AI in healthcare today is helping clinicians move faster and see more patients," said Anne Gifford, co-founder and COO of Corner Health. "We're using AI to create the opposite outcome. Our providers can see fewer patients, spend 2-3x more time with each one, and still build thriving independent practices."

"The primary care shortage isn't fundamentally a clinician shortage," said Vig Chandramouli, Partner at Oak HC/FT. "It's an infrastructure problem. Corner has built a new operating model that enables highly skilled clinicians to practice independently while delivering a better patient experience.

"I grew up watching my mom run her own private practice, and I saw firsthand how powerful it is when a clinician owns the relationship with their patient," said Lava Sunder, co-founder and CEO of Corner Health. "The tragedy is that the economics of healthcare have made that model increasingly difficult to sustain.
