Eyebot, a developer of rapid point-of-sale eye prescription technologies, secures $6million in seed funding. Leading the round were AlleyCorp and Ubiquity Ventures, with involvement from Humba Ventures, Ravelin, Spacecadet, and prior backers Village Global and Baukunst.
The company plans to use the money to expedite its expansion plans, build the staff, and increase its product development efforts.
Deep tech startup Eyebot, founded and led by Dr. Matthias Hofmann, PhD, is focused on creating solutions for quick and easy self-serve vision assessment. Using a 90-second automated process, it technology provides precise eye prescriptions right at the point of sale with its first product, a freestanding self-serve vision testing terminal.

It has verified its self-serve modality in multiple US locations and performed clinical investigations involving hundreds of patients. Leading eyeglass companies have placed orders with the startup, which has established a network of providers called tele-doctor and plans to grow by 2025.
