HLRBO Closes $2.5 Million Funding Round to Expand Private Hunting

The round also followed earlier funding by Great North Ventures, Gopher Angels, and other investors. HLRBO raised $1M in February 2024 and $600K in August 2024.

The company plans to use the funding to expand its available hunting lease inventory, enhance its website and mobile app, and invest in marketing, partnerships, mapping technology, and AI-powered land intelligence tools.

HLRBO has expanded from a regional startup into a nationwide platform, offering hunting leases in all 50 US states. The company now has 14,000 paying subscribers, more than 225,000 total users and over 1.7 million acres of leased land listed on its platform.

HLRBO is investing in new technology to improve the hunting lease experience, including parcel-level mapping, AI-powered land evaluation, and a proprietary feature that turns 2D property maps into realistic 3D drone-style flyovers.

The company is also expanding its content and educational efforts through blogs, feature articles, and a printed newspaper for landowners and field representatives. In addition, HLRBO is growing its presence at trade shows and industry events, building partnerships with outdoor brands and hunting media companies, and investing in social media, creator collaborations, and video content to attract more users and increase engagement.
