The Honest Company reported second-quarter revenue of $83.3 million, down 10.9% year over year. However, net income nearly tripled to $10.7 million from $3.9 million, while gross margin improved by 800 basis points to 48.4%.
SUMMARY
- Honest Company’s Q2 revenue fell 11% to $83.3M.
- Net income nearly tripled to $10.7M.
- The company raised its full-year revenue forecast.
Much of the profit increase was linked to one time items, including tariff refunds and costs related to strategic exits. Excluding these items, adjusted net income was $5.1 million, while adjusted gross margin was 43.8%, up 340 basis points.
Organic revenue, which excludes the company’s exited apparel and Canadian operations, increased 6.7% to $80.2 million. Tracked channel consumption also grew 7.7%, ahead of the 2.3% growth recorded by the overall category.

The Honest Company raised its full-year revenue guidance to $319 million-$325 million. Cash reserves increased to $105.9 million, with no debt outstanding. During the first half of the year, the company repurchased 5.6 million shares for $18.7 million.
The number of hedge funds holding Honest fell from 19 to 15 in the latest quarter, showing a decline in institutional interest. Short interest stands at 9.91% of the available shares indicating notable bearish sentiment. Meanwhile as of September 4, the stock was trading at a forward P/E of 46.73, suggesting investors are expecting strong earnings growth.
The results show a mixed picture for Honest. Organic revenue is growing and the company is gaining market share, but the strong headline profit numbers were partly boosted by tariff refunds and other one-time items.
For the growth story to continue, gains in wipes and personal care products will need to offset the decline in diapers. The company will also need to maintain this growth without relying on one-time benefits.
