Persistent and Kong Announce Strategic Partnership to Help Enterprises Securely Move AI

May 26, 2026 | By Startuprise io

Persistent Systems, a global digital engineering and enterprise modernization company, and Kong announced a strategic partnership to help businesses securely and reliably scale their AI systems through improved control and connectivity infrastructure.

Persistent Systems will serve as Kongs global systems integration partner, combining its engineering expertise with Kong’s API and AI connectivity platform to simplify integration, improve governance and help enterprises adopt AI faster.

As companies move from testing AI to using it in real business operations, the main challenge is no longer access to AI models. The bigger issue is managing how AI systems are connected, controlled, and operated at scale.

APIs, data pipelines, AI models, and agents are becoming part of one connected system. Without a unified control layer, these system's can become fragmented, harder to manage and more difficult to scale efficiently.

This partnership helps solve that challenge by enabling companies to use Kong’s secure and scalable connectivity platform across APIs, data, and AI services.

Together, Persistent Systems and Kong will help businesses modernize older API systems, improve governance, lower operating costs, and support high-performance workloads across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The partnership will also help companies deploy GenAI and AI agent workflows with stronger security, monitoring, and policy-based controls. Features include protection for personal data, centralized access management, and full visibility across API and AI interactions to support enterprise security and compliance.

The collaboration further strengthens Persistent Systems’s AI-first strategy by helping businesses move from AI experimentation to large-scale implementation. By combining Kongs AI Gateway and connectivity platform with Persistent’s GenAI Hub and engineering expertise, companies can build more secure, scalable, and production-ready AI systems with lower risk and faster business results.

Anand Krishnan, Executive Vice President, Persistent, said, "Enterprise AI will not be defined by who has access to models. It will be defined by how effectively organizations can govern how intelligence flows across their systems. APIs are no longer just integration points. They are the control layer for enterprise AI. Our partnership with Kong brings together Persistent's engineering-led approach with a unified connectivity platform to help clients move from fragmented AI initiatives to scalable, production-grade systems. Together, we are enabling enterprises to build AI that is secure, controlled and ready to deliver real business outcomes."

Ken Kim, Senior Vice President and Head of Business Development at Kong, said enterprises are rapidly deploying AI, making APIs essential for connecting data, services, and AI models across complex systems. He added that the partnership with Persistent Systems combines Kong’s AI connectivity platform with Persistents engineering expertise to help businesses securely scale enterprise AI with stronger governance, visibility, and access control.
