The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates Names John Bratsakis Chief Executive Officer

The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates has announced that its Board of Directors has appointed John Bratsakis as Chief Executive Officer following a national search led by Sterling | Martin.
Bratsakis will lead the organization and its affiliated companies, continuing to build on its strong focus on advocacy, collaboration, innovation, and services for member credit unions.
Throughout his career, Bratsakis has led trade associations and financial institutions. Most recently, he served as President & CEO of the MD|DC Credit Union Administration.
He brings more than 35 years of leadership experience and has a strong track record of growing membership, improving engagement, strengthening advocacy, and developing new business solutions to support credit unions and the communities they serve.

As President & CEO of the MD|DC Credit Union Association, Bratsakis drove strong growth in member affiliation and engagement, expanded strategic partnerships, and developed new programs to meet changing industry needs.
He also co-founded Plexcity, a shared back-office platform that supports associations, foundations, small businesses, and credit unions nationwide by improving efficiency and strengthening member services.
Bratsakis is a recognized industry leader and currently serves as Chair of the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL). He has also held several leadership roles across national credit union organizations, charitable groups, and industry boards, and has represented credit unions before lawmakers and regulators across multiple states and jurisdictions.
Bratsakis takes over following recent governance updates and will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and member credit unions to advance The League’s strategic goals and continue delivering value across the region. He will officially begin his role as Chief Executive Officer on August 3.
