The platform replaces spreadsheets, paper-based routes, and older software systems that waste haulers have traditionally used. It helps operators manage their daily work through a single system.
One key feature is Haul-E, an AI order-taking agent that answers incoming customer calls and records orders outside regular business hours. Nearly 80% of TrashLab's customers now use the tool.

Why the Funding Matters

Who founded TrashLab?
TrashLab was founded in 2022 by Neil Chaudhary and John Tan. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
“Haulers have been forced to choose between antiquated tools and platforms that can’t handle more than one line of business,” said Neil Chaudhary, co-founder and CEO of TrashLab. “We built TrashLab to eliminate those silos and give haulers complete visibility into their operations, margins, and profitability.
“TrashLab has completely transformed our business. Our phone system, field operations, and back-office billing all run in one place, so every part of the company is finally working in lockstep,” said Brad Uribe, Owner at Uribe Refuse. “When the camera flags a can not out, a blocked dumpster, or an overflowed container, it moves from the field to a customer text to the invoice automatically.
Market and Business Growth
Since its launch, TrashLab's platform has helped waste haulers manage more than 5 million tons of material. It now serves hundreds of haulers across more than 40 states in the United States and Canada.
The company has also reported more than sevenfold growth in annual contract value since 2024. This growth has been supported by customers adopting additional modules across their business operations.
What Happens Next?
TrashLab plans to expand its AI capabilities, develop more agentic workflows, and strengthen its engineering, sales and customer success teams. The company aims to support more waste haulers as they move from older systems to integrated software platforms.
