The company plans to use the funding to grow its retail presence, increase sales and marketing efforts, and further develop its upcycled ingredient supply chain through vertical integration.

B-SIDES makes crunchy snack puffs from upcycled ingredients, including oat flour from oat milk production and corn from grits milling. The snacks are free from the top nine allergens and provide complete plant-based protein.

Since launching, B-SIDES has grown quickly and is on track to increase revenue five times year over year. The brand is also expanding into retail, with products expected to be available in more than 1,500 stores across the Northeast and other parts of the U.S., including Westerly Natural Market, Dumbo Market, Westside Market, and Foxtrot.

That approach recently inspired a full brand redesign by Studio Mondo, influenced by the bold and playful style of 1990s snack culture. The updated branding focuses on flavor, nostalgia, and stronger shelf appeal.

Looking ahead, B-SIDES plans to expand its sales operations, support retail partners and improve its supply chain. The company also plans to vertically integrate it's sourcing and production of upcycled ingredients to improve efficiency and support long term growth.

"We took a slower, more deliberate path early on—really focusing on getting the product and positioning right before scaling," said Ahmed. "A lot of brands in this space try to lead with function or nutrition, but our view is simple: if the snack does not taste good, none of the rest of it matters. Once you earn that first handful, everything else can follow."
