Thomas J. McCabe joins Academy Securities’ Advisory Board

Tom McCabe has more than 30 years of global financial experience, with senior leadership roles across the US, Europe, and Asia. He most recently served as CEO for the Americas at DBS Bank for 11 years before retiring in 2025.

Earlier in his career, he was CEO of Standard Chartered Bank in South Korea, where he led the US$3.3 billion acquisition of Korea First Bank. Tom McCabe has held several board positions throughout his career, including as Chairman of AXS Pte and as a Non-Executive Director at Travelex Holdings Ltd and Merchant Solutions.

He was also invited in 2006 to join the Global Advisory Board of the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. In addition, he has lectured at institutions such as USC, Stanford University, San Jose State University, and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Currently, he serves on the board of “A Place Called Home,” a nonprofit supporting underprivileged children and low-income families in Los Angeles.
