The funds will be utilised by the company to grow both its operations and its clientele.

Friendlier, under the leadership of CEO Kayli Dale, offers reusable food containers, an app for deposit and return asserts, and other features that make it simple for customers to consume their favourite meals without wasting any packaging. A deposit is paid by customers and is refunded upon container return. After that, the containers are cleaned and reused.

In order to satisfy the increasing demand, the company is concentrating on expanding its sales force, building new facilities in Guelph and Vancouver, and developing a reverse supply chain that will allow reusable packaging at scale as more and more businesses shift away from single-use plastics.

A million containers have been reused by Friendlier after three years on the market. This represents a significant milestone as it saves 8 million litres of water, 370,000 pounds of CO2 emissions, and 127,000 pounds of plastic waste compared to single-use packaging.

Friendlier has raised $8.35 million in total to date, comprising of the latest $5 million seed extension, $2.5 million in seed funding, and $850,000 in pre-seed funding. Furthermore, the business has obtained non-dilutive capital totaling more than $1 million.
