Pharmacists Mutual Appoints Sharon Duez Shaw as Vice President

She will take over the role from Peter Lambert, Senior Vice President, who is set to retire on March 31, 2027. The transition is designed to ensure a smooth change in leadership.

Shaw brings extensive experience in specialty insurance and claims management. She has led claims teams, developed claims strategies, improved legal processes, and worked with underwriting, actuarial, and finance teams to improve business performance.

Shaw’s appointment supports Pharmacists Mutual’s focus on strengthening its specialty insurance business for healthcare professionals and organizations.

Over the next six months, Shaw and Lambert will work together to ensure a smooth leadership transition and continued support for agents, policyholders, and business partners.

Before joining Pharmacists Mutual, Shaw served as Chief Claims Officer at Vela Insurance, a W. R. Berkley company. She previously spent 14 years at AXIS Capital, where she held several senior leadership roles, including Head of Global Claims Strategy & Shared Services and Head of North American Claims.
