Cincinnati Financial Corporation Expands Board With Appointment of Independent Director

Cincinnati Financial Corporation has expanded its board of directors to 15 members by appointing Lisa M. Franchetti to the board. Franchetti will also serve as a member of the companys audit committee, with her appointment taking effect immediately.

Franchetti earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, a master's degree from University of Phoenix, and is a Distinguished Graduate of the Naval War College.

Admiral Franchetti retired from the U.S. Navy in 2025 after nearly 40 years of service. During her career, she held leadership positions at every operational level and ultimately served as the 33rd Chief of Naval Operations from November 2023 to February 2025.

As Chief of Naval Operations, she led more than 600,000 personnel and oversaw efforts to modernize the Navy, strengthen military readiness, expand the fleet, adopt new technologies, and develop the workforce. She was also the first woman to serve as Chief of Naval Operations and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Before becoming the Navy’s top officer, Admiral Franchetti served as Vice Chief of Naval Operations and as Director for Strategy, Plans and Policy on the Joint Staff. During her military career, she also commanded the destroyer USS Ross, Destroyer Squadron 21, two carrier strike groups, U.S. Naval Forces Korea, and the U.S. Sixth Fleet, leading complex military and joint operations around the world.

After retiring from the Navy, she founded Franchetti Strategic Solution's LLC, a consulting firm focused on national security, strategic planning and organizational transformation. She is also committed to leadership development, serving as a 2026 Fellow at the University of Chicago and set to become a Distinguished Practitioner at Northwestern University in 2027.
