Aurelius Systems, a San Francisco, CA–based provider of an autonomous directed-energy technology platform, has raised $40 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Draper Associates and KAS Venture Partners.

The round also saw participation from General Catalyst, Hanwha Defense USA, Outlander, Alumni Ventures, Bravo Victor Venture Capital (BVVC), Detroit Venture Partners, Decisive Point, and others.

The company will use the capital to develop its flagship Archimedes platform, expand manufacturing and operations, reduce supply-chain risks and enter new markets.
