HistoSonics Announces Financing with Participation from Yosemite

Jun 23, 2026 | By Startuprise io

HistoSonics, the developer of the Edison® Histotripsy System and histotripsy-based therapy platforms, has announced the closing of a new funding round. The round included participation from Reed Jobs and Yosemite, along with several other strategic investors. Financial details were not disclosed.

The funding comes as the company continues to gain strong momentum, with growing global adoption of its non-invasive histotripsy treatment for liver tumors. HistoSonics is also expanding the use of its technology to treat additional types of solid tumors.

Over the past year, HistoSonics has made strong progress in treating liver tumors, including metastatic cases, with increasing use by physicians at leading hospitals and academic medical centers.

The company has also submitted a De Novo request to the U.S. FDA for clearance to treat kidney tumors, which would significantly expand the use of its technology. In addition, HistoSonics is seeing encouraging early results in treating primary pancreatic tumors, a condition with high unmet medical need, and is moving toward a future FDA submission as clinical progress continues.

Histotripsy is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy and sound waves to break down targeted tissue without surgery or radiation, and it may result in fewer side effects compared to traditional treatments. The Edison Histotripsy System has received U.S. FDA De Novo clearance for treating liver tumors and is now being used more widely in the United States and internationally. Its use for conditions outside the liver is still limited to clinical research.

"Building a generational company requires partners who bring more than capital,” commented Mike Blue, Chairman & CEO, HistoSonics. This financing continues to add strategic investors who understand our mission, appreciate the magnitude of the opportunity ahead and share our commitment to delivering lasting value for patients, physicians and shareholders."

“Yosemite’s mission is to help accelerate technologies that have the potential to change outcomes for patients meaningfully,” said Reed Jobs. “And for me it’s a personal mission. HistoSonics is pioneering an entirely new approach to addressing some of the world’s deadliest cancers and diseases, and we are excited to support the company as it expands the reach of histotripsy throughout the entire body.”
