Mining-Based Newmont Appoints Peter Beaven to Board of Directors

Newmont Corporation has appointed Peter Beaven to it's Board of Directors, effective September 1, 2026.

  • Beaven brings strong finance and mining experience.

He is expected to join the Audit Committee, bringing additional finance and global mining experience to the Board.

Beaven served as Group Chief Financial Officer of BHP from 2015 to 2021, overseeing global finance, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital allocation, risk management and investor relations.

He has also held senior roles across copper, base metals, manganese and carbon steel materials. He previously served as Non-Executive Chair of the International Copper Association.
