The financing was co-led by existing investor, Foresite Capital, and new investors, Samsara BioCapital and venBio Partners, with additional participation from new investors Cormorant Asset Management, SR One, Lilly Asia Ventures, Nextech, Ally Bridge Group, HBM Healthcare Investments, Omega Funds, Piper Heartland Healthcare and existing investors AyurMaya, an affiliate of Matrix Capital Management and a U.S.-based healthcare-focused fund. Srinivas Akkaraju, M.D., Ph.D., Founder and Managing General Partner of Samsara BioCapital, and Richard Gaster, M.D., Ph.D., Managing Partner at venBio Partners, will join Alumis’ Board of Directors.

Sionna Therapeutics

Sionna Therapeutics, a clinical-stage life sciences company dedicated to developing highly effective and differentiated treatments for cystic fibrosis (CF). MA-based Sionna Therapeutics secures $182million in series C round funding.

 The Series C round, which was upsized and oversubscribed, was led by Enavate Sciences with additional new investors Viking Global Investors and Perceptive Advisors, as well as participation by all existing investors including RA Capital, OrbiMed, TPG’s The Rise Fund, Atlas Venture, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, funds and accounts advised by T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., and Q Healthcare Holdings, LLC., a wholly owned subsidiary of QIA. Sionna also announced today that Edd Fleming, M.D., Executive Vice President of Commercialization at Enavate Sciences, is joining its Board of Directors.

Rakuten Medical

Overjet

MA-based Overjet secures $53.2million in series C round funding. the largest investment ever in artificial intelligence for dentistry. The historic round was led by March Capital, with participation from General Catalyst, Insight Partners, E14 Fund, Crosslink Capital, Spring Rock Capital, Liquid 2 Ventures, and Harmonic Growth Partners, as well as the American Dental Association.

Overjet is the world-leader in dental AI. Founded by experts from MIT and Harvard University, it builds artificial intelligence that helps dental organizations give patients the highest quality of care.

Taalas Inc.

Taalas Inc. an innovator in AI and silicon is secures $50million over two rounds of funding led by Pierre Lamond and Quiet Capital. Taalas was founded by Ljubisa Bajic, Drago Ignjatovic, and Lejla Bajic.

Prior to co-founding Taalas, Ljubisa founded Tenstorrent in 2016. Drago and Lejla joined Tenstorrent soon after as early engineering leaders.

Baseten

Baseten secures $40million in series B round funding. Leading the round were IVP and Spark Capital, with participation from Greylock, South Park Commons, Lachy Groom, and Base Case, among other current investors.
