OpenTable Buys Libro to Expand in Quebec and Beyond

Apr 21, 2026 | By Startuprise io

OpenTable announced it has acquired Libro, a Canadian reservation and table management platform. Since Libro serves thousands of restaurant partners, the deal will strengthen OpenTable’s presence in Canada, especially in Quebec.

By joining together, OpenTable and Libro will combine their strengths in restaurant discovery, table management, and guest relationship tools to better support the Canadian hospitality industry.

As part of the deal, OpenTable will bring in Libro’s employees and leadership team. Together, they will focus on creating better solutions for restaurants and diners across North America.

Libro will continue to operate as a separate brand to ensure a smooth service experience for its current partners, while gaining more exposure through the OpenTable marketplace. Integration of systems, technology, and security will happen gradually over time.
