OpenText Names James McGourlay as President and Chief Client Officer

OpenText Corporation announced that James McGourlay will move from Interim CEO to President, and Chief Client Officer effective 20 April 2026.
In this role, James McGourlay will lead OpenText Corporation’s global client experience, professional services, and renewals teams. The appointment supports the company’s focus on improving customer outcomes while growing its core products, and expanding cloud adoption. He will report to CEO Ayman Antoun, and remain part of the executive leadership team.
OpenText Corporation said James McGourlay has held senior roles in sales, customer operations, and executive leadership at the company. Most recently, as Interim CEO, he helped ensure steady leadership while focusing on customers, execution, and strategy.
The company also announced that Paul Duggan will step down as President and Chief Customer Officer on April 20, 2026 and move into a Special Advisor role. He will remain on the executive leadership team until July 1, 2026, when he leaves the company. OpenText thanked him for his leadership, and support during the transition.
