CA-based Play Caller secures an undisclosed amount in pre-seed round funding from Leading Sports Technology Investors Including NFL Legend and Hall of Famer Joe Montana's Liquid 2 Ventures and Gaming Industry Icon Stephen Crystal's SCCG Venture Fund.

CA-based Play Caller secures an undisclosed amount in pre-seed round funding from Leading Sports Technology Investors Including NFL Legend and Hall of Famer Joe Montana’s Liquid 2 Ventures and Gaming Industry Icon Stephen Crystal’s SCCG Venture Fund.

Play Caller, the first social micro-fantasy sports-focused technology platform in the industry, was launched today, says to its founder, Nick Palazzo. With a focus on the approximately 70 million fantasy sports players worldwide, Play Caller has developed a more dynamic kind of fantasy sports experience known as micro-fantasy.

Friends can compete against one another using Play Caller’s social platform by making live predictions on individual plays, drives, possessions, and other in-game instances in real time.

For the younger generation of sports enthusiasts, Play Caller has developed an in-game fantasy sports experience, in contrast to usual fantasy sports experiences which involve player selection and lineup setup prior to the game.

Fans can now compete live with their friends during every play, possession, at-bat, and soon, crucial moment of a football, basketball, or baseball game. They are no longer limited to deciding prior to the game.

Nick Palazzo is a sports technology entrepreneur who leads the Play Caller founding team. Former Harvard football player Palazzo built a successful sports media, multimedia content, and technology company that attracted over 10 million users in the past. Palazzo’s experiences playing fantasy sports with his former Harvard friends served as the inspiration for Play Caller.
