ProEncia Biotechnology, a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based periodontal care company, has raised an undisclosed amount in a pre seed funding round. Backers were not disclosed.
The company plans to use the funding to develop, further commercialize, and license a range of new non-invasive periodontal care products for patients with periodontal disease at all stages of severity.
The company announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has confirmed its provisional patent application (No. 63/765,225), titled “Compositions and Method for Prophylactic, Symptomatic, Therapeutic, and Cosmetic Periodontal Care,” has been converted into a non-provisional PCT international application (No. 19/548,447) and entered into the federal patent filing system.
“According to the World Health Organization, more than one billion people globally, and more than 100 million people in the U.S., suffer from periodontal disease,” said Tapos Ghosh, CEO and Co-Founder, ProEncia Biotechnology. “There’s an urgent need for innovation to resolve this epidemic and bring safe, effective solutions to lifelong sufferers of this condition.”
