American Global Strategies has announced that Robert Greenway, former Deputy Assistant to the President, and Senior Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the National Security Council, has joined the firm as Senior Vice President.

Robert Greenway brings more than 30 years of experience in defense, intelligence, and national security policy to American Global Strategies. He will advise clients on defense strategy, security risks, and international policy, with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa region.

He previously served as Director of the Allison Center for National Defense at The Heritage Foundation, where he led policy work focused on strengthening U.S. national defense and supporting American economic prosperity.

He also served as President and Executive Director of the Abraham Accords Peace Institute, where he worked to advance and support the normalization agreements he helped establish.

Robert Greenway is a highly respected national security leader whose government career culminated at the National Security Council. He served as the senior U.S. official responsible for developing and coordinating American policy across the Middle East and North Africa.

As Deputy Assistant to the President, and Senior Director, he led a major U.S. sanctions campaign as part of the Iran strategy. He played a key role in shaping the Abraham Accords, one of the most significant diplomatic breakthroughs in the Middle East since 1994.

Robert Greenway led the development of the first presidential national strategies for countries including Iran, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, and Israel. He also helped create a system to measure progress toward U.S. strategic goals and coordinated international efforts against ISIS, contributing to the liberation of large areas in Iraq and Syria and the removal of key terrorist leaders.

Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Intelligence Officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency, supporting U.S. Central Command. He deployed to Iraq, and Afghanistan multiple times, including after 9/11, and later advised coalition forces in Afghanistan. He also led data-driven intelligence work to track illicit financial networks and received the Military Operations Research Society’s David Rist Prize.

AGS CEO Alexander Gray said, "Mr. Greenway brings exceptional experience as a policy practitioner, both functionally and regionally, to AGS. The depth and breadth of his relationships and understanding of complex issues will be invaluable to our clients."
