SMX and Vannevar Partner to Build Mission-Focused AI Agents
Apr 21, 2026 | By Startuprise io

Vannevar Labs and SMX have formed a strategic partnership to deliver mission specific AI agents to U.S. Combatant Commands and selected federal agencies. The collaboration combines Vannevar’s AI, data, and mission analytics capabilities with SMX’s large scale delivery expertise and government contracts. Together, they will deploy AI enabled services with embedded experts to improve operations and mission outcomes across defense, and federal organizations.
The partnership is designed to turn mission-quickly-needed solutions into deployed solutions, focusing on practical workflows and repeatable ways to roll out capabilities.
The partnership will connect existing platforms to improve data sharing and analysis, including hard-to-access datasets that can reveal new insights. It will also build an AI agent system that works across different models, monitors performance, and supports real-time workflow development.
It will deploy mission-specific agents for customized tasks like geospatial analysis, planning, and information operations, helping reduce work from days to minutes. In addition, AI-enabled mission services will include embedded experts who help tailor solutions, train teams, and speed up results for users.
