TrueCar has announced two key leadership hires, automotive industry veteran Syl Raymond as Senior Director of OEM and Nik Huyeng, a former executive at Tesla and Marsh, as Vice President of Insurance and Ancillary.
With these new appointment's, TrueCar aims to expand its relationships with automotive manufacturers (OEMs), and grow its insurance offerings. The company expects these efforts to create new growth opportunities while providing greater value to both consumers and business partners.
Raymond will work closely with automakers to build partnership programs and support growth across TrueCars OEM network. Huyeng will lead the company’s insurance and ancillary services business, focusing on developing digital insurance solutions that make it easier for customers to find the right coverage while saving time and money.
Raymond brings more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, with expertise in OEM relationships, dealership operations, and technology partnerships. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles at Fair.com, Esserman Automotive Group and Land Rover North America.

Huyeng has more than 13 years of experience in the automotive, insurance, and financial services industries, including four years at Tesla. During his time at Tesla, he helped build the company's European insurance business, secured regulatory approvals across the EU and UK, and played a key role in launching Tesla Insurance in California in 2019.
Earlier in his career, Huyeng worked at Marsh in Hong Kong, Beijing, and across the Asia-Pacific region. There, he helped create Tesla's first dedicated auto insurance program and supported Marsh's appointment as Tesla's global insurance broker.
Most recently, Huyeng served as Regional Affinity Leader for the BeNeLux region and Germany at Marsh, where he helped improve and restructure underperforming business operations. He was also recognized on Captive Review's Power 50 list of leading global captive insurance professionals.
