Venture Capital Runway Growth Capital Appoints Michael Rovner as Co-CEO and Co-CIO

Runway Growth Capital provides growth loans to venture-backed and other companies as an alternative to raising equity. The firm serves as the investment adviser to Runway Growth Finance Corp. and private investment funds.

Mr. Rovner joins Runway from BC Partners, where he was a Managing Director after the firm acquired Ovation Partners in 2023. He co-founded Ovation Partners and served as its CEO, leading its asset backed lending and growth capital business.

His appointment brings experienced leadership as Runway expands its platform and offers more financing options to growth stage companies. It also strengthens the relationship between Runway and BC Partners Credit, which acquired Runway in January 2025.

Mr. Rovner brings more than 30 years of experience in technology companies, private equity, private credit, and growth lending. Before joining BC Partners, he co-founded Ovation Partners in 2012 and served as its CEO and head of the Investment Committee, helping build the firm into a provider of asset-backed lending and growth capital.

He also co-founded Vida Capital in 2009 and served on its board. The firm focused on managing insurance-related and longevity-linked assets.
