Veritas Aortic Solutions Raises $12M in Seed Funding

Jun 2, 2026 | By Startuprise io

Veritas Aortic Solutions, a Costa Mesa, CA-based medical device company and an inQB8 Spinout, has raised $12 million in a Seed funding round from Cedars-Sinai Intellectual Property Company, along with inQB8’s existing investors.

As part of the funding round, Chad Martinson, former executive at Medtronic and former CEO of ACOVA Integrated Health, Judd Nordquist, and Nirdesh Gupta joined the company’s Board of Directors alongside Veritas and inQB8 co-founders Arshad Quadri and J. Brent Ratz.

The company plans to use the funding to continue developing its transcatheter valved aortic root conduit (TVARC) and advance it toward first-in-human clinical procedures.

The Veritas TVARC is designed as a minimally invasive treatment option for high-risk patients with diseases of the aortic root, and ascending aorta including aortic dissections, aneurysms, and other related conditions. It aims to treat areas involving the aortic root, coronary arteries, and ascending aorta without the need for open-heart surgery.

The Veritas TVARC system is a single implant that combines a replacement aortic valve, an ascending aortic graft, and the company’s proprietary Chameleon Eye™ coronary ports. It is designed to isolate the damaged section of the aorta and restore normal blood flow to the coronary arteries and the rest of the body.

"The Veritas TVARC system represents the type of patient-centered innovation we seek to support at Cedars-Sinai," said Nirdesh Gupta, PhD, Managing Partner of Cedars-Sinai Intellectual Property Company. "We are pleased to participate in this financing to help advance a novel endovascular approach to Aortic Root and Ascending Aortic Disease—an area where treatment options have remained largely unchanged for years despite significant patient risk. We believe this technology has the potential to improve outcomes for patients facing life-threatening cardiovascular disease meaningfully."

"According to Arshad Quadri, current surgical treatments for acute diseases of the ascending aorta carry very high risks, with combined mortality and complication rates reaching up to 65%. As a cardiac surgeon, he has performed many of these procedures and describes them as complex, difficult, and highly invasive."

"While minimally invasive endovascular treatments have long been available for conditions affecting the descending aorta and aortic arch, patients with diseases of the aortic root and ascending aorta still rely on open-heart surgery. Quadri said his goal has always been to provide these patients with a safer, faster, and less-invasive treatment option, and he believes the company is now one step closer to achieving that vision."

"J. Brent Ratz said the Veritas program has progressed quickly through prototype development, bench testing, and successful long-term animal studies since it was launched within inQB8 Medical Technologies. He added that support from experienced medical technology investors, leading physicians, and organizations such as Cedars-Sinai will help accelerate development and move the technology closer to its first use in patients."

"Ratz also noted that he and Arshad Quadri have worked together for more than 20 years developing solutions for cardiovascular diseases. He believes Veritas has the potential to make a significant impact because it addresses the complex challenges of aortic root and ascending aortic diseases, areas where new treatment options are urgently needed."
