AI Detector Pangram Scores $9M in Funding led by Menlo Ventures

Pangram, a NYC-based AI research lab, has raised $9 million in a funding round led by Menlo Ventures.

The round also saw participation from Haystack, ScOp Venture Capital, Script Capital, and Cadenza.

The fresh capital will be used to enhance its AI-generated text detection capabilities and expand its technology to include image detection, as demand for AI content verification continues to grow.

The company develops advanced detection systems that help businesses, educational institutions, journalists and content moderators determine whether text or images have been generated or manipulated by artificial intelligence.

Its flagship model, Pangram 4, can accurately detect AI-written text even after it has been paraphrased or altered using tools designed to disguise its origin. The platform also maintains a low false positive rate of 0.01% while improving performance on mixed human and AI generated content.

Pangram has also introduced an AI Image Detector in research preview, marking its entry into multimodal AI detection technologies.
