Mogul was founded in 2022 by Alex Blackwood and Joey Gumataotao. Both founders previously worked in real estate investing at Goldman Sachs before starting the company.
The company is headquartered in Washington, DC, and focuses on making residential real estate investment opportunities accessible to individual investors.
"The Series A raise validates our thesis that real estate is ready for an AI-powered overhaul. The industry is ripe for innovation and presents a trillion-dollar market cap opportunity," said Alex Blackwood, CEO and Co-Founder of Mogul. "The platform started as a way for Joey and me to invest in high-quality real estate without the headache, and I am proud to say I am still a power user of the platform today.
"Real estate has long been one of America's greatest wealth-building assets, but access to these investment strategies has largely been reserved for institutions, " said Joey Gumataotao, Co-Founder of Mogul. "Having worked on building Goldman Sachs' single-family rental platform from zero to $1 billion in under a year, I've seen firsthand what this asset class can deliver when the right technology and systems are applied.
