Murphy Oil Corporation appoints Michol Ecklund as Senior Vice President

Murphy Oil Corporation, an independent oil and natural gas company has appointed Michol L. Ecklund as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, effective August 31, 2026.

In her new role, Ecklund will oversee the company's legal, compliance, governance, government affairs, land, sustainability and risk management functions. She will also join Murphy's Executive Leadership Team.
Ecklund brings more than 25 years of legal, governance, compliance and leadership experience in the energy industry. She most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Anew Climate, where she led the company's legal, marketing and policy teams. She joined Anew in 2024.

Before joining Anew, Ecklund spent seven years at Callon Petroleum Company, where she held senior leadership roles including General Counsel and Chief Sustainability Officer. Earlier, she spent 15 years at Marathon Oil Corporation, where she rose to Deputy General Counsel. She began her legal career at Baker Botts in Houston.
Ecklund holds a bachelor's degree from Rice University and a law degree from Harvard Law School. She also serves on Rice University's Board of Trustees.
