SkyWest Airlines Appoints Wade Steel as President and Chief Operating Officer

SkyWest, Inc. has appointed Wade Steel as President and Chief Operating Officer of SkyWest Airlines, Inc., its wholly owned subsidiary.

In his new role, Steel will lead the airline's day-to-day operations and oversee its financial performance, with responsibility for the operational and business success of SkyWest Airlines.

Wade Steel will continue to report to SkyWest, Inc. President and CEO Chip Childs while leading the SkyWest Airlines management team. He will oversee more than 16,000 employees, about 2,600 daily flights, and partnerships with four major airlines as he works to strengthen SkyWest's position as a leading regional airline.

As Wade Steel takes over leadership of SkyWest Airlines' operations, Bryce Bailey has been appointed Vice President of Commercial Contracts. In his new role, Bailey will oversee the airline's vendor and commercial agreements and will continue reporting to Steel. Bailey joined SkyWest in 2011, became Managing Director of Planning in 2021, and hold's a bachelors degree in business management from Brigham Young University.

Steel joined SkyWest's leadership team in 2007 and served as Vice President and Controller of SkyWest Airlines from 2011 to 2014. He was promoted to Executive Vice President of SkyWest, Inc. in 2014 and became Chief Commercial Officer in 2015. During his career at SkyWest, he has played a key role in the company's fleet modernization. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University.
