Adobe Appoints Anil Chakravarthy as Chief Executive Officer

Current CEO Shantanu Narayen will move to the role of Executive Chair. He will work closely with Chakravarthy to ensure a smooth leadership transition and support Adobe’s continued transformation.

Chakravarthy joined Adobe in January 2020 as Executive Vice President and General Manager of its Digital Experience business. In September 2020, he also took charge of Adobe’s worldwide field operations, supporting enterprise customers across the company’s full product portfolio.

In December 2021, Chakravarthy was promoted to President of Digital Experience and Worldwide Field Operations, expanding his leadership role across the business.

Under Chakravarthy’s leadership, Adobe has strengthened its position in Customer Experience Orchestration. He has helped develop products such as Adobe CX Enterprise, GenStudio, and Brand Visibility, using AI to improve customer experiences.

He also played a key role in expanding Adobe Experience Platform and launching new products such as CX Enterprise Coworker. He also helped lead the acquisition and integration of Workfront and Semrush.

Before joining Adobe, Chakravarthy served as CEO of Informatica for four years. He previously held senior roles at Symantec, VeriSign and McKinsey & Company. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Institute of Technology, Varanasi, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from MIT.
