Chai Discovery Announces Collaboration with Novartis to Advance AI-Driven
Jul 13, 2026 | By Startuprise io

Chai Discovery, an AI company developing software for molecule design, has announced a collaboration with Novartis to use artificial intelligence in the discovery of therapeutic antibodies.
Under the agreement, Novartis will use Chai's latest AI models, including Chai-3, to help discover antibodies for multiple therapeutic research programs.
The collaboration builds on more than a year of work between Chai Discovery and Novartis, including Novartis' early access to Chai's next-generation AI folding model. After seeing the progress of Chai's AI technology, the two companies have decided to expand their partnership across multiple therapeutic research programs.

Chai Discovery uses artificial intelligence to predict and design molecular interactions, helping scientists create new biomolecules with specific properties. Its AI models are designed to speed up drug discovery by generating molecules based on research needs and reducing the time required to develop new treatments.
“We are delighted to be collaborating with Novartis in the discovery of new antibodies,” said Joshua Meier, co-founder, and CEO of Chai Discovery. “This is a significant step forward in expanding the range of therapeutic programs that can benefit from AI driven molecular design.”
"AI is already changing the way medicines are discovered," said Fiona Marshall, President of Biomedical Research at Novartis. "By using advanced AI model's for antibody design, we can explore more possibilities, make better decisions earlier in the process, and focus on the most promising drug candidates."
