GenNx360 Capital Partners Appoints Welela Dawit as Operating Partner

She brings nearly 20 years of experience in finance and operations from Microsoft and General Electric, where she supported business growth, improved margins, and led large-scale transformations across global operations. In her new role, she will work closely with portfolio companies and investment teams to help drive value creation.

Before joining GenNx360, Welela Dawit was CFO of Microsoft South Africa, where she managed financial performance, strategy, and governance for a major Microsoft business focused on enterprise technology, AI, and cloud services. She also helped develop data center expansion plans and supported innovation in AI-driven finance solutions. She received Microsoft’s Finance Excellence Award two years in a row.

Earlier, she spent over 15 years at General Electric in the U.S. and internationally, holding roles in finance, operations, and business transformation. She rose through GE’s Financial Management Program and Corporate Audit Staff, later leading commercial finance and FP&A, and eventually serving as CFO of GE Africa. In that role, she managed business integrations and helped separate a major portfolio into an independent business.
