XCaliber Health Raises $6.5M in Seed Funding

XCaliber Health, an Andover, MA-based provider of an agentic operating system built to reduce administrative burden, operational waste, and improve the quality of clinical care delivered to patients, has raised $6.5 million in a seed funding round led by ManchesterStory with participation from Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV) and Arka Venture Labs.

The company plans to use the funds to speed up product development and expand its platform to more organizations across the country.

Health systems, provider groups, and digital health partners use XCaliber to replace manual, disconnected workflows like prescription refills, referrals, lab alerts, and care gap management with automated processes, while still keeping people in control of important decisions.

For the past 20 years, healthcare systems have added tools like electronic health records, billing, and scheduling systems, but they have never had a single system to connect them. Even with AI added on top, the core problem persists: these tools still operate in silos and cannot fully automate end-to-end workflows or act independently.

As a result, healthcare staff spend about 15.5 hours per physician each week on tasks like record retrieval, referrals, scheduling and documentation, which can cost a 20 provider practice around $1.4 million annually due to manual work, delays, and inefficient processes, even if those costs are not always clearly tracked.

XCaliber solves this problem with a single AI operating system that connects data, workflows, and automation in one place, allowing healthcare organizations to run more like semi-autonomous systems, with routine administrative tasks handled by AI agents. At the same time, clinical and operational teams retain control of key decisions and patient care. Unlike separate point solutions, it links all the systems a provider uses and coordinates work across them in real time.

This gives teams a unified view of patients and operations, reduces manual handoffs through automated workflows, and frees up staff to focus more on patient care instead of administrative tasks.

XCaliber delivers data-driven insights from each healthcare system’s data to support more personalized decisions and uses a human-in-the-loop approach, where AI agents handle clinical and operational workflows. At the same time, people oversee key decisions and operate at varying levels of automation, with different tasks having varying levels of AI autonomy depending on whether they are clinical or operational.

Before XCaliber, scheduling follow-up appointments required staff to check records manually, contact patients, wait for replies, and update systems, often taking days and leading to missed visits, and lost revenue. With XCaliber, the process is automated so patients are contacted through their preferred method, appointments are confirmed quickly and records are updated in minutes, while staff only step in when needed.

"Healthcare does not need more disconnected point solutions. It needs a system that can coordinate work across all of them and take the administrative burden off clinical and operational teams," said Prakash Khot, co-founder and CEO of XCaliber. "That is where XCaliber is focused. We are helping healthcare organizations move beyond manual work toward automated workflows that reduce costs, accelerate care delivery, and give clinical teams back the time to focus on patients. We're honored to be backed by investors who believe in our mission to reshape how healthcare operates fundamentally."

"We invest in companies that move beyond pilots, and demonstrate real adoption and change in the market. XCaliber is the perfect example of this," said Matt Kinley, Founding Partner at ManchesterStory. "The company is tackling one of healthcare's most persistent challenges: how to make fragmented systems work together to improve operations, and support better care. XCaliber isn't promising that future. It's already delivering it."
